Over the fall break of 2009, 16 of us had the privilege to study the mineralogy and geology of north central New Mexico in a unique outdoor geologic laboratory setting.

This website captures our 5-day journey in New Mexico. It showcases our travel logs, geologic papers on the Harding Pegmatite, the northern Rio Grande Rift, the Tertiary deposits of the Española Basin, the Valles Grande Caldera and the students’ term projects.

Apart from our geologic excursions, we had the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the local cultures, tucking-in to scrumptious Mexican food and also explore Santa Fe, the capital of New Mexico.

Welcome to our New Mexico Field Trip website.
